After graduating the university, I was quite open to different opportunities. The only thing I knew for sure – I would like to make an impact. I was going through several interview processes but I decided to choose Hays. I did not understand what recruitment was and what exactly was expected from me. The job sounded challenging. I was excited.

I started in a junior consultant position. In the beginning it was quite hard. I got into the team that is quite unique. It took me several months to fully understand all aspects and nuances of the job. Luckily, I had people around supporting me and believing in me. I wouldn’t be able to handle it without them.

With this job I overcame a lot of fears. I still remember the first time I was scared to pick up the phone and call a client. For the first 6 months I did not think I would be able to handle the job, but then suddenly everything changed. I started to truly believe in myself and in what I was doing. I realised that I am changing people’s lives for the better and I love my job. For me, this was a starting point for my both personal and professional growth - I became a consultant, and later a senior consultant. It was just meant to be. I understand now that I chose the right place for me. I am indeed making an impact.
